On the 29^th of May, around 20 athletes from Kiltiernan National School travelled to Dangan running track in Galway to compete in the schools Athletics Competition for 2018.

We competed in many events including 60m, 400m, 100m, 800m and relay runs. We were to be in Dangan for 08:00 to stretch and to get ready to run. We had pupils from 2^nd class up to 6^th class competing. We did run offs to decide who went to compete. The 1^st 2^nd and 3^rd placing athletes in the run off went to compete in that event. We did the same run offs for anyone who was interested in being on a relay team and we then put relay teams together. There was one boy’s team one girl’s team from 2^nd class up to 6^th class. It was a fun day and we came back to school with several medals. We really enjoyed ourselves.
