K.N.S.: The Competitions We Are Entering
K.N.S.: The Competitions We Are Entering
In Kiltiernan N.S. we enter lots of competitions. The middle room competed in the Gort Credit Union’s poster competition. The theme was ‘dreams are made of this’. I drew a pig flying over a rainbow and a seal with a patterned ball on its nose.
We also did the Ireland’s Own short story competition. It had a limit of 400 to 1,000 words. There were 5 topics. The topics were A Day Minding Grandad, Down the Back Of the Sofa, The Expensive Dress, A Letter from Mars and My School after Dark. I did A Day Minding Grandad. We all did it. We have until Halloween to finish. I have finished mine, but not everyone has.
We also entered a school competition on Today FM’s Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show. It was to win €1,000 for your school. We had to write about why our school is so special and what we would use the money for. Unfortunately we didn’t win.
Anyway, we entered the I.C.A. (Irish Countrywomen’s Association) Halloween short story competition. We had to make it spooky but not too spooky!
We competed in athletics cross country competition. 2 of the 6 people we sent got near first place. The rest came around the middle. We do a lot of competitions in 2nd 3rd and 4th class.
