Origami Workshop

Origami workshop

On the 17th of November 2017 an origami expert, Tom Cuffe came to the classrooms of Kiltiernan N.S. to teach us the ways of Origami. Tom is also a birdwatcher and uses that to help with his origami. Origami is the art of folding paper. First he taught us how to craft an ancient Chinese envelope. He told us that paper was very expensive back then and that people would write on a piece of paper and they would use Origami to fold it into an envelope. Secondly he taught us how to make a tetrahedron. This took a lot of precision and time. Finally he showed us how to make a cube out of six small pieces of card. During break I stayed in and made what is called a level two cube which uses hundred and twenty pieces of small card or twenty cubes. I really enjoyed the workshop and I would love to do it again.
