School Athletics Dangan 2016

On the 24^th of May some of children from Kiltiernan School were excited because we were going to the Dangan for the County School Athletics. We all arrived in Dangan at 9.30am. We started with a warm up. The first event was the U9 400 metres. Iarla won his heat and got through to the final. Next up was the U11 400 metres. Stephen got through to the final.

After the middle distance heats were the sprints. Orlaith was running first. She got through to the semi-finals. So did David and Abbie. Sean C, John and Sean S were unlucky not to get out of their heats.

Later was the U9 400 metres final. Iarla ran very well but didn’t feature in the medals.  Next came the U11 400 metres. Stephen ran a super race and won a gold medal! Well done Stephen!

Now it was time for the sprint semi-finals. Abbie, David and Orlaith got to the final. Then it was the finals time. First Orlaith won gold, next David won gold. Subsequently Abbie won a silver medal. We were all very proud of our achievements! We all really enjoyed our day at Dangan and we were all justifiably proud of our performances.
